Message from the Board & Spring Rec News
LGCS Families:
I hope everyone is safe and healthy and had a wonderful holiday season! As we move into the new year, we wanted to remind everyone that registration for the Spring Rec season is now open, and Registration links are as follows:
Players – https://go.teamsnap.com/forms/252699
Coaches/Volunteers –https://go.teamsnap.com/forms/252750
Following up on a successful Fall season where we fielded 4 full Magic teams that practiced 2-3 times a week for over two months, and during which our COVID safety protocols worked very well thanks to the diligent efforts of our dedicated coaches and league officials, we are hopeful we will be able to get back to Softball in the spring at a larger scale with our Spring Rec Season.
Based on current State and Local Youth Sports Guidelines, we are hoping to be in a position to form up teams and commence practices as early as February once the Shelter in Place orders are lifted, and to possibly be able to play actual games as early as March. Once Santa Clara County gets to the Red Tier (Tier 2), we would expect to be able to start playing games, as Softball is among the sports that will be allowed to commence competitions at that point. In most scenarios, we will likely still be operating under our practice safety guidelines (attached to this email for your information) that cap team size at stable groups of 12, so be sure to register now to ensure your player has a spot! Fees are expected to be the same as last spring ($175 for A Division players, $275 for AA, AAA and AAAA players) but given the evolving situation, we wont be charging any fees upon registration at this time. Once we have clarity around the timing and nature of the Spring Season, fees will be finalized and invoiced at that point.
If you have any questions about the Spring Season or about Registration, please feel free to reach out to us directly at info@lgcsfastpitch.org.
Be sure to register now to ensure your player has a spot, we’re looking forward to getting the girls out of the house and back out on the field this Spring!
Thanks,
LGCS Board
