Hello LGCS Families,

It’s hard to believe, but the spring season is already more than halfway complete, with our final spring games scheduled for May 2. We hope the season has been a home run for your daughter(s).

With summer just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about summer softball—it’s almost Magic Time.

For those newer to LGCS, Magic is our travel/tournament program that fields teams throughout the year. Taking advantage of longer days and lighter schedules, summer Magic players practice more frequently, compete in “friendlies,” and play in weekend tournaments (typically 4–7 games). While development remains central, competition is a higher priority than in the spring season.

Finding the Right Fit

We expect to field multiple teams at each age group (8U–14U). During registration, families will be able to share their preferred level of commitment so we can better align teams with player goals and availability.

While we cannot guarantee placement on a specific team or tier, coaches use these preferences alongside evaluation results to form rosters where expectations and schedules are aligned.

  • Tier 1 (High Priority): 5+ summer tournaments, 3–4 practices per week, limited breaks. Best suited for players seeking the highest level of competition and planning to prioritize Magic through the end of July.

  • Tier 2 (Competitive): 3–5 summer tournaments, ~3 practices per week, with some scheduled breaks. A balance of competitive play and summer flexibility.

  • Tier 3 (Flexible/Developmental): 2–3 summer tournaments, 2–3 practices per week, more local friendlies, and larger rosters. Ideal for 8U players and those looking for development with greater summer flexibility.

Registration & Costs

Registration will open within the next week.

Fees typically range from $400–$600 depending on age group and tournament schedule. For top-tier A teams, costs are higher (closer to ~$1,000) to account for professional coaching.

West Valley College Partnership

We are excited to continue growing our partnership with West Valley College softball. This summer, many of our top teams will benefit from instruction and mentorship from West Valley coaches and players, providing a meaningful connection to the collegiate level.
